OSU shortstop Max Hewitt helped the Cowboys win 6-5 with a walk-off single with two outs. OSU’s, 16-7 overall, win over OU, 21-5, was included first baseman Alex Garcia’s three-run home run. Starter C.J. Valera struck out seven and allowed two runs in six innings. Closer Ben Leeper earned the win following a shutout inning and the walk-off single
OU second baseman Conor McKenna drove in three runs, which included two on a home run. Also, first baseman Tyler Hardman hit a RBI double. Starter Ben Abrams struck out six and allowed five runs in five innings. Reliever Zack Matthews was credited with the loss after Hewitt’s walk-off single.
OSU will travel to Fort Worth, Texas, to face the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs, 16-7, in a three-game weekend series starting on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
