Oklahoma State Beats South Florida 9-2, To Face Top-Seed Stetson

The three-seed Oklahoma State Cowboys (30-24-1) won 9-2 against the two-seed South Florida Bulls (35-21-1) at Melching Field in Deland, Florida, in the first day of the NCAA Deland Regional.

 

Second baseman Andrew Rosa started OSU’s scoring with a RBI double in the third inning before right fielder Carson McCusker hit a solo home run in the fifth. In the sixth, first baseman Christian Funk hit a two-run home run before third baseman Michael Neustifter hit a RBI single. Finally, shortstop Matt Kroon hit a RBI single before left fielder Jon Littell hit a RBI double and center fielder Trevor Boone hit a RBI single.

 

Pitcher Reza Aleaziz allowed one run and struck out one in three innings before ace Carson Teel earned his eighth win with six innings of one-run ball, which included four walks and three strikeouts.

 

OSU will face the one-seed Stetson Hatters (46-11) at Melching Field in Deland, Florida, today at 6 p.m. as part of the NCAA Deland Regional.
