Oklahoma Loses Weekend Series To TCU

The Sooners won the series opener 7-6. OU, 23-10 overall, shortstop Brandon Zaragoza got three hits, including a RBI single and a RBI double against the Horned Frogs, 20-10. Starter Cade Cavalli allowed four runs and struck out five in five innings before closer Jason Ruffcorn earned the win after allowing a run and striking out a pair in a four-out appearance.

Right fielder Diego Muniz hit a solo home run and Zaragoza hit a RBI groundout in the 4-2 loss in game two. Starter Nathan Wiles struck out four and allowed two runs in five innings before reliever Wyatt Olds earned the loss after striking out one and allowing two runs in 2/3 innings.

First baseman Tyler Hardman got two hits and drove in a run and Muniz got two hits and drove in two runs in the 6-4 loss in the series finale. Starter Levi Prater struck out seven, allowed four runs in five innings and earned the loss.

OU will host the Texas Southern Tigers, 11-21, for a two-game series starting Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
