Oklahoma Loses 13-5 Against Mississippi State, Set For Rematch In Final

The three-seed Oklahoma Sooners (38-24) lost 13-5 against the two-seed Mississippi State Bulldogs (34-26) in the NCAA Tallahassee Regional at Dick Howser Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida.

 

Second baseman Kyle Mendenhall drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the third inning. In the sixth, center fielder Cade Harris hit a RBI double before right fielder Domenic DeRenzo hit a two-run home run in the seventh. Finally, Harris hit a solo home run in the eighth.

 

Starter Devon Perez allowed seven runs, a walk and struck out two in 2 1/3 innings. Then, five relievers combined for six runs allowed, three earned, three walks and struck out nine.

 

OU will face the two-seed Mississippi State Bulldogs (34-26) in a rematch  the NCAA Tallahassee Regional Final at Dick Howser Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida, today at noon.
