Oklahoma Blanks Samford 4-0

The three-seed Oklahoma Sooners (35-22) won 4-0 against the four-seed Samford Bulldogs (37-25) in the NCAA Tallahassee Regional at Dick Howser Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida.

 

Second baseman Kyle Mendenhall started the scoring with a three-run home run in the third inning before designated hitter Thomas Hughes hit a RBI single in the fifth.

 

Starter Nathan Wiles walked two and struck out 10 in 8 2/3 scoreless inning before closer Austin Hansen finished the game with a strikeout.

 

The three-seed Oklahoma Sooners (35-22) will face the winner of today’s game at 11 a.m. between the four-seed Samford Bulldogs (37-25) and the two-seed Mississippi State Bulldogs (32-26). OU will play today at 5 p.m. in the NCAA Tallahassee Regional at Dick Howser Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida.
