Oklahoma Beats San Diego and San Diego State At Tony Gwynn Classic

The Sooners beat the San Diego Toreros 6-1 on Friday at Fowler Park in San Diego, California. First baseman Tyler Hardman’s grand slam allowed OU to win game one. Starter Cade Cavalli got the  win after seven innings of one-run ball with seven strikeouts.

On Saturday, OU beat the San Diego State Aztecs 1-0 at Tony Gwynn Stadium in San Diego, California. Center fielder Milan Walla drove in the lone run with single. Walla’s single allowed starter Nathan Wiles to win game two with seven scoreless innings and 10 strikeouts.

OU’s perfect start came to an end on Sunday after OU lost 8-6 to the Cal State Fullerton Titans. Hardman drove in three and was one of three Sooners to get two hits. Starter Levi Prater earned the loss after allowing four runs, two earned, in 4 2/3 innings.

OU will host two-game series against the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions on Tuesday and Wednesday.
