Oakland Sweeps Texas In Three-Game Series

The Athletics, 14-13 overall, swept the Rangers, 12-11, in a three-game series in Oakland, California. Texas lost the Series opener 6-1. Pinch hitter Patrick Wisdom hit a RBI double, his first, to drive in the lone run for Texas. Starter Mike Minor allowed four runs and struck out four in six innings to earn his second loss.

Texas lost game two 11-5. Second baseman Danny Santana was one of two Rangers to get three hits in game two and also drove in two. Starter Lance Lynn allowed eight runs and struck out three in 3 1/3 innings to earn his second loss.

Texas lost the series finale 6-5. Right fielder Nomar Mazara hit two solo home runs, his third and fourth, and shortstop Logan Forsythe hit a solo home run, his second. Starter Kyle Dowdy allowed three runs and struck out two in three innings before reliever Chris Martin allowed a run in a two-out appearance to earn his second loss.

Texas will finish its seven-game road trip with a four-game series against the Seattle Mariners, 16-11, which can be heard on:
