Oakland Sweeps Texas In Three-Game Series

The Oakland Athletics, 90-60 overall, sweep the Texas Rangers, 74-77, in a three-game series at Globe Life Park. Texas lost the series opener 14-9. Designated Shin-Soo Choo hit a three-run home run, his 22nd, and right fielder Danny Santana hit a three-run home run, his 25th. Rookie Ian Gibaut earned his first MLB loss after allowing three runs and striking out two in one inning.

Texas lost game two 8-6. Second baseman Rougned Odor hit a two-run home run, his 27th, and pinch hitter Jose Trevino hit a RBI single and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. Starter Mike Minor earned his ninth loss after allowing seven runs and striking out five in five innings.

Texas lost the series finale 6-1. Texas’ lone run scored on a passed ball. Starter Jonathan Hern√°ndez earned his first MLB loss after allowing three runs and striking out four in 2 2/3 innings.

Texas will start a five-game road trip with a two-game series against the Houston Astros, 98-53, at Minute Maid Park, which can be heard on:
