Media days are usually standard fare: rote answers, coachspeak, and enough platitudes that it may as well be a presidential debate.

Much like the political debates of the last year, Thunder media day was anything but usual. Much of that was thanks to big new arrival Carmelo Anthony. And that’s not to mention the other big new arrival, Paul George.

Let’s start with Carmelo, who showed up in all his hooded glory:

‘Melo says he feels most effective at the four, A.K.A. power forward:

One thing’s for sure, though. ‘Melo thinks the idea of coming off of the bench is laughable — literally:

Paul George is obviously excited about the new new addition:

George, in addition to Russell Westbrook, was a huge factor in bringing Anthony to OKC:

Neither Anthony nor George shied away from talking about new free agent Dwyane Wade:

Russell Westbrook played coy for the most part about his looming potential contract extension:

Then there was this earnest, hilarious moment from a reporter too nervous to ask the reigning MVP a question:

 

(In his defense, the asker was a student, likely covering his first media availability. It was too good not to include.
