Lil Wayne Brings Out Russell Westbrook in OKC Show

Multi-Grammy award winner Lil Wayne was in Oklahoma City last night, and he invited a star-studded group up to the stage: namely, Thunder stars Russell Westbrook and Victor Oladipo.

Former Oklahoma receiver DeDe Westbrook and highly-touted Oklahoma basketball commit Trae Young also joined the rapper on stage:

Weezy took some time to specially acknowledge Russell Westbrook’s achievements this season, and Russ was met with thunderous MVP chants:

(Oh, hey TMZ! Thanks for featuring my tweet.)

Although he and his team recently departed the playoffs, Westbrook seemed to be enjoying himself, and he has every right to — the man averaged a triple-double over the course of the regular season AND his five playoff games. Oh, and he’s practically guaranteed to win the MVP award in what was the mostly tightly contested race in recent memory.

Wayne also took time to shoutout Trae Young, who he called the “no. 1 player in the nation.”

Lil Wayne took to Twitter to give the group some love after the show:

Russell Westbrook, Victor Oladipo, DeDe Westbrook, and Trae Young had pretty good years in 2016 and the early part of 2017. A little celebration was probably in order.
