OKLAHOMA CITY — Darius Bazley will be sidelined with a right knee bone bruise sustained in yesterday’s loss to the Boston Celtics. He will be re-evaluated in four to six weeks, per a spokesman from the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Bazley was seen leaving the floor late in the first quarter yesterday with a heavy limp. He made a diving lay-up with 58 seconds to go in the first to tie the game at 28. Bazley appeared to have run into Celtics forward Grant Williams after leaving the floor to attempt the shot.
Hamidou Diallo replaced Bazley a few seconds later. Bazley would not return.
The rookie power forward has averaged 4.5 points and 3.7 rebounds in a reserve role. He’s primarily backed up Danilo Gallinari and has remained consistent in the rotation this season.
The Thunder will more than likely lean on smaller lineups with Diallo, Abdel Nader and Lu Dort more in the absence of Bazley. Mike Muscala playing the four-spot could be an option as well.
