Astros Sweep Rangers In Two-Game Series

The Houston Astros, 100-53 overall, swept the Texas Rangers, 74-79, at Minute Maid Park. Texas lost the series opener 4-1. Right fielder Nomar Mazara hit a solo home run his 18th, and starter Lance Lynn earned his 11th loss after allowing four runs and striking out eight in seven innings.

Texas lost the series finale 3-2.  First baseman Ronald Guzmán hit a solo home run, his 10th, and a throwing error allowed a run. Starter Kolby Allard earned his first loss after allowing two runs and striking out two.

Texas will finish a five-game road trip with a three-game series against the Oakland Athletics, 92-61, which can be heard on:
