WEEK 5 – Aaron Rodgers produces another stunning final drive to break every Cowboys fan heart, taking them down the field to score with :11 seconds left to go. The Steelers looked lost as Big Ben threw 5 interceptions in a blowout loss to the Jaguars. The Giants WR core took a beating, and they are left with just one on the roster. Odell is most likely out for the season with a broken ankle, and Sterling Shepard and Brandon Marshall both went out with ankle injuries of their own.
The Rams, who had one of the strongest offenses through the first four weeks couldn’t find an answer to the Seahawks, as Gurley had his first outing of the year with just 4 fantasy points. Joe Mixon and Christian McCaffrey both saw the endzone for their first time in their careers, and Leonard Fournette torched the Steelers, running for 181 yards and two touchdowns.
This was the first round of byes, so players from the Falcons, Saints, Broncos and Redskins all had to be replaced, and those four offenses produce some key players for teams around the league, including Julio Jones, CJ Anderson, and Drew Brees.
Thursday’s game between the Patriots and Buccaneers was expected to be a high scoring affair, but both offenses played flat and the Patriots defense looked formidable for the first time this season. One bright spot for Fantsy Owners who were patient with Doug Martin; 75 yards and a touchdown. But more importantly, a huge role in the offense going forward.
Week Six Must Starts
Alvin Kamara – Saints RB – if you are in a ppr league, his 10 catches on 10 targets last week set him up for a big role off the bye week against Detroit. McCaffrey was able to produce catching out of the backfield against the lions, and Drew Brees will be looking to find Kamara early and often.
Michael Crabtree – Raiders WR – Somehow Derek Carr is possibly returning next week, and even if its still Manuel, Crabtree has jumped Amari Cooper as the top wideout for this team. Amari Cooper has 5 combined fantasy points the last three weeks, and if those numbers continue to pile up, or not pile up, Crabtree will continue to get a ton of targets.
Kirk Cousins – QB Redskins- Last time Kirk Cousins played, he lost some of his firepower against the strong chiefs defense, but in week 6 the Redskins are taking on the 49ers, who allowed Jacoby Brisset to throw the ball all over the field. Cousins looks like he’s found some rhythm with Terrelle Pryor, and with the addition of Chris Thompson to the offense, Kirk is in line for a big week 6.
Denver Broncos Defense – they take on the 0-5 Giants at home, without their top 4 wide receivers, and no run game to date. Enough said.
